Train schedules except Yangon- Mawlamyine to halt during Thingyan period

The trains will stop running during Thingyan Period starting from April 14th but No.89 Yangon-Mawlamyine up-train and No.90 Mawlamyine-Yangon down train will be running regularly, according to the officials from Mawlamyine Railways Station.

“All train services will be suspended on the Akya Day which falls on April 14th. However, up and down trains of Yangon-Mawlamyine and Mawlamyine-Yangon will run regularly on Akyo, Akyat and Atet Days. The Yangon-Mawlamyine and Mawlamyine-Yangon special trains will pause running from April 14th (Akya Day) to April 16th(Akyat Day),” said unidentified official from Mawlamyine Railways Station.

After the end of Thingyan period, the train services will be operated as usual.

All train services around Yangon will be suspended from 14 April Thingyan (Akya Day) to 16 April Thingyan (Athet Day).

Myanma Railways-MR will run special trains in addition to regular trains to ensure smooth transport for passengers and government staff during the Thingyan holidays.
