Three candidates from the Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP) requested the township's eletion commission for an investigation of the votes in Mingin Township, Kalay District, Sagaing Region on November 9.

The candidates submitted a complaint to the commission that acts that were breaching election regulations and vote manipulation were found and that they are not satisfied with the final results of the votes, including the advance votes.

"We cannot agree with them by signing on the Form (19). We found many instances of breach of conduct during the advance voting as well as the voter list process. We cannot agree to the results and so we requested investigation into results from the regional 1 & 2 as well as the Pyitthu Hluttaw seat to the commission," said Dr San Win, USDP candidate for regional (2).

For Pyitthu Hluttaw, the National League for Democracy (NLD) candidate U Kyaw Lin, with 11589 votes, won over the USDP candidate U Maung Myint. The NLD also won the Amyotha Hluttaw seat.

It was reported that the NLD also won the regional (1) and (2) spots over the USDP by a large margin.
