Three vessels from the Russian Navy’s Pacific Fleet arrived in Myanmar on a goodwill visit on the evening of March 5, docking at the MITT Terminal of Thilawa Port in Yangon.
The visiting ships include the corvette warships Sovershenyi and Rezkiy, along with the medium-sized tanker Pechenga.
Naval officers and personnel from the Myanmar Navy, the Russian military attaché to Myanmar, and other officials welcomed the ships upon their arrival.
The visiting fleet is led by Captain 1st Rank Andrei Gaevoi and carries a total of about 350 officers and sailors. The delegation will stay in Myanmar for six days, until March 10, during which they will conduct sightseeing visits and participate in friendly sports competitions aimed at strengthening bilateral ties between the two countries.
