Three staff members from Yesagyo Township Electricity Power Corporation in Magway Region were murdered between Shwehlan and Hsincheya villages on the evening of September 6.

Aung Hsan Win, Pyae Sone Aung and Kyaw Ko Ko Tun were murdered while they were reading electric meters in the villages of the township, local residents said.

Their bodies were brought back to the town of Yesagyo on September 7 afternoon, according to members of an aid organization.

“Those murdered were electricity employees. One was an electric meter reader and two linesmen. They were killed while reading the electric meters,” said a Yesagyo resident.

No one has claimed responsibility for the killings, and authorities concerned are investigating the case.

The three were killed at a place located between the Chindwin and Ayeyawady rivers and close to Myaung Township.
