Myanmar migrant workers returning from China were welcomed at Taunggyi  for the last time and they were transported to their homes via passenger buses . In future, they will be welcomed at the Shwe Nyaung railway station.

More than 500 migrant workers from China arrived at the Taunggyi business center-TBC car park on May 5 evening with 23 buses. They were welcomed by Taunggyi District Management Committee, department concerned, fire brigade members, Red Cross members and social organizations. 

“It is the final batch of welcoming and sending them to their respective places. Starting from tomorrow, those coming back will be welcomed back at Shwe Nyaung station,” said Phyo Min Htaik, Taunggyi Township administrator.

Before the migrant workers arrived, the TBC car parking lot and buses were sprayed with disinfectant, and dinner boxes were distributed by Thittaw ward and Saydanarshin youth charity organizations.

The first batch of migrant workers, 275 people working at Mongla arrived at TBC car park on April 29, the second batch of 566 migrant workers arrived on May 2, the third and final batch of over 400 people arrived on May 5.
