Tens of thousands of people staged a protest against foreign countries and international organizations putting pressure on State and Tatmadaw and interfering in the internal affairs in front of  Maha Bandoola Park in Yangon on October 14.

The protest denouncing foreign countries and international organizations putting pressure on State and Tatmadaw was organized by the Nationalists Strength (Yangon) and those loving nationalities joined the event.

The people supporting the protest were holding placards stating “No foreign countries undermining the prestige of Myanma Tatmadaw”, “No foreign counties putting pressure on Myanma Tatmadaw”, and “To support Tatmadaw who safeguarding life and property of the people”.

“We are supporting the government today. The reports frequently stated that Aung San Suu Kyi, one of the leaders of the State, did not stop the acts of the Tatmadaw. Ways and means had to be sought in order to take actions against the government organization including Aung San Suu Kyi.

“The foreign media and organizations incited enmity between the government and the Tatmadaw. They dissent the views between the government and the Tatmadaw.  They dissent the views between the Tatmadaw and the people. Therefore, it is required to have unity between the Tatmadaw and the government. All need to have unity. Our country won’t accept the action against our leaders. Any foreigners are not allowed to arrest our leaders. We won’t accept any kind of such act,” said a national activist Win Ko Ko Latt.

The people across the country gathered near Bahan Thone Lan Bus Stop in Bahan Township, Yangon Region. They marched along Gaba Aye Pagoda Road and stopped in front of Maha Bandoola Park. Those present at the protest saluted the State’s flag and sang the State’s song. The messages sent by Patriotic Buddhist Monks Union (Yangon) and (Mandalay) were read out during the pretest. Win Ko Ko Latt and Buddhist Monk U Wirathu (Masoeyein) gave respective talks.

“I come to the protest not to protect Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, but because to protect the sovereignty of the State,” said Buddhist Monk U Wirathu (Masoeyein).

During the protest denouncing foreign countries and international organizations putting pressure on State and Tatmadaw and interfering in the internal affairs, those joining the protest were holding the picture of Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and the flags of State and Tatmadaw and waving them to passers-by.
