NAYPYITAW------Military [Tatmadaw] has regarded Kachin Independence Army(KIA) which supports the terrorist organizations as a rebel, says Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun, spokesperson of State Administration Council (SAC).
The information came from 19th Press Conference of the SAC held at the Ministry of Information in Nay Pyi Taw, yesterday.
“The seizure of weapons and the detainees in Sagaing region were mainly supported by the KIA. The KIA expands their territory from Kachin State to Sagaing Region aiming to create the fighting between KIA and Tatmadaw. The Tatmadaw had told the KIA Tatmadaw would implement a ceasefire until 2022. We have intention of implementing to the peace dialogues. But, we would like to say to the public that Tatmadaw regarded the KIA as a rebel because KIA had supported the terrorist organizations,” said Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun.
The media questioned on the shutdown of police outposts, schools and rural clinics due to the KIA and PDF.
The spokesperson of the Ministry of Home Affairs replied the queries raised by the media that the police stations and police outposts which had been weakened were attacked by so-called PDF terrorists in some places of Sagaing Region. So, the Ministry of Home Affairs temporarily withdrew the police outposts which situated in the far-flung areas and then the remaining of police stations and outposts weren’t withdrawn.
