The Tatmadaw has regained control of the Sedawgyi Dam and surrounding areas in Madaya Township, which were temporarily under the control of PDFs, according to sources.

The security forces have drawn up plans to regain control of the Sedawgyi Dam and factories including Sedawgyi Village, which were temporarily under the control of PDFs, with minimal damage, and have been divided into military columns. On August 24, 2025, they were able to control the area around the Phayaungtaung mine and on August 28, the Alpha Cement Factory. The terrorists have retreated to the northern part of Madaya with heavy casualties.

In addition, since October 20, 2025, the Tatmadaw has continued to conduct counter-terrorism operations and launched five military operations from the Thapyay Doe side from the east of the Sedawgyi Dam, from the Thanbo side, from the side of the Sakhanthar-KyaPin-Thankone near the Alpha Cement Factory south of the Sedawgyi Dam, from the side of the Sakhanthar-ThaPhanKai-Tadakone, and from the side of southwest of the Sedawgyi Dam.

The PDFs also defended the towns, villages, and dams they temporarily controlled by occupying the public's residential buildings, the Sedawgyi Dam's sluice gates, and the spillway, and by building concrete bunkers, foxholes, and communication channels around the dam and its surroundings, but the security forces were able to regain control of the Sedawgyi Dam and the local army headquarters and all its surroundings by the afternoon of November 7.

During the 19-day operation, 42 major and minor clashes with the insurgents took place, and 14 bodies, 60 weapons and related equipment were seized from the insurgents, and some security forces members risked their lives for the country.
