When health checks were carried out in Tamwe Township on May 17, four people were found with high fever ward 16. Among the four, elderly man in his 80s died and three children were sent to Sanpya Hospital.

According to MP Hla Thein, the children with high fever were 11 years old, 11 month old and 5 years old respectively.

“The elder man died of natural causes while being sent to hospital. All have no travel history,” said MP Hla Thein.

Besides, another four suspects were found in Tamwe and they were under quarantine. More than 20 wards have undergone health checks. From ward 16, three sick children, over 80 years old man who has died, and 4 suspects were found.

Two vehicles from Phaung Gyi, one vehicle from the military medical unit, one from the District health department, altogether 4 vehicles were used in the health check. The health checks were carried out in Tamwe Township such as Tamwe Gyi aka Natmauk, Maukone, Mahlwakone, Htay Kywe (kha), Myitta Nyunt ward which is the most populated place in Tamwe Township.
