Sony World Photography Awards Winner dies of traffic accident

YANGON----Photographer Kyaw Win Hlaing who was Sony World Photography Awards Winner-2019 died of traffic accident this morning, according to the sources.

When Kyaw Win Hlaing was riding his bike on Myittar road in South Oakkalapa Township over 5am of May 26th, the Hijet crashed him.

The nearby residents said that the bicycle pedaled on the right side of a road. A Hijet crashed the bicycle.

“The couple quarreled on the Hijet and then they turned power steering. Later, the Hijet crashed the bicycle. Kyaw Win Hlaing died on the spot and we sent his body Yay Way mortuary,” said unidentified official from Social Welfare Team who went to the accident.

Sony Electronic and TMW Enterprise Limited expressed their deepest sympathy for Kyaw Win Hlaing’s death.

On May 25, Kyaw Win Hlaing signed agreement with Sony Camera for extension of agreement.

Kyaw Win Hlaing, 42-aged, was an enthusiastic amateur bicycling. So, Bicyclists Team also expressed sympathy for his death. He left wife and two sons.

Kyaw Win Hlaing won the Sony World Photography Awards held in London in 2017 and the image was taken at Sadan Cave in Kayin State.
