Shan Nationalities Democratic Party (SNDP) also known as (White Tiger Party) held a signboard installation event this morning (November 25) in Dala Township, Yangon Region, to introduce its parliamentary candidates.
Party members and supporters attended the event, during which introduction signboards for the candidates were installed at several locations across Dala Township, including the old clock tower in Kyansitthar Ward, the entrance of Bogyoke Road, the junction of Boryanpyae Road, Kamarkasit Thabban Jetty, and in front of Mingalarpar Shop in Banya Dala Ward.
According to U Nay Myo Zaw, Yangon Region Chair of the White Tiger Party and candidate for the Yangon Region parliament in Dala Township, the party will run its campaign by installing candidate introduction signboards and distributing pamphlets in wards and villages across the region, without organizing public rallies or speeches.
Speaking about his candidacy, U Nay Myo Zaw said, “If I win, I am a native of Dala. I finished my 10th Standard here. So I know what Dala needs. That’s why I will do everything I can to meet those needs.”
The White Tiger Party was re-established based on the former Shan Nationalities Democratic Party, which previously operated mainly in Shan State, Kachin State, and several regions.
Now officially registered as a union-level party aiming for nationwide representation, the White Tiger Party has expanded its offices across regions and states and is competing in many constituencies in accordance with the Election Commission’s guidelines for the 2025 election.
“Our party has existed for just over two years. Other parties already have experience. What I want to say is that we want to guarantee that we will truly work for the people. That’s why we are competing alongside the bigger parties. Whether we can deliver or not will be seen when we are given the chance. We want people to trust the Shan and Ethnic Democratic Party and vote for us. We promise to work hard for peace and development in the country,” said U Nay Myo Zaw.
He added that the party is contesting in 40 of the 45 townships in Yangon Region.
Explaining why he is contesting under the White Tiger Party, U Nay Myo Zaw said, “The main reason is that this party is formed by many ethnic groups. It is an ethnic-led party. So we want to show that we can work under their leadership and contribute to promoting ethnic rights.”
In Dala Township, the White Tiger Party’s candidates are U Win Maung for Pyithu Hluttaw (Lower House), U Nay Myo Zaw for Yangon Region Hluttaw (FPTP), U Aung Kyaw Naing for Yangon Region Hluttaw (PR),Daw Khin Moh Moh Thein for Amyotha Hluttaw Constituency No. (5) (FPTP), U Tin Maung for Yangon Region Rakhine Ethnic Constituency.
