A house fire broke out in Mandalay Region after a sky lantern crashed onto the roof of a residential home, according to reports.
The incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. on October 6 at a two-story house located on 131x132x59(B) Street in Pyigyidagun Township, Maha Aungmyay District, Mandalay Region. The fire started when a burning sky lantern fell onto the roof of the house.
Firefighters from Pyigyidagun Township Fire Station, as well as auxiliary fire brigades from Zay, Yadana, Sin, Theinkone, Lawkapala, and Thingpankone stations, responded to the scene. The fire was brought under control by 7:36 p.m. and completely extinguished by 7:46 p.m., according to local authorities.
The blaze destroyed the upper floor of the zinc-roofed, wooden two-story house. Fortunately, no people or animals were injured or killed in the incident.
