Seven new power plant projects are under implementation in order to meet with power requirement in coming summer, said Khin Maung Win, Deputy Minister for Electric Power and Energy.

So as to provide increasing power consumption in the coming summer as scheduled, Khin Maung Win went on an inspection tours to Hlawga, Ywama, Ahlon, Thilawa power plants in Yangon Region and new power plant projects.  

In meeting with the staffers, Khin Maung Win said seven new power plant projects in Magway, Shwetaung, Khunchaung, Ahlon, Kyaukphyu, Thanlyin and Thaketa are under implementation to provide increasing power consumption in the coming summer. The staffers need to pay special attention to fitness of power plants and they are to try to generate full power from the power plants. They are required to make efforts to finish the projects as planned.

On arrival at Ahlon power plant, Khin Maung Win instructed the staffers to complete the implementation of the construction of the 151-MW power plant in the coming summer, pay attention to worksite safety, cooperate with the department to take and carry project materials from the port if they arrive, carry out regular maintenance at the power plants for fitness and take notice of power system.

The deputy minister and party went on inspection tours to Thilawa natural gas-fired power plant in Kyauktan Township and also to Thaketa natural gas-fired power plant in Thaketa Township. During the inspection tours, the deputy minister gave necessary instructions to the staffers and attended to the needs.
