Seven Immigration staffs including officer charged with Corruption

YANGON-Seven Immigration staffs including officer from Lashio Township Immigration and Population Department in northern Shan State and their partner were charged with corruption law, according to the announcement frmo the Anti-Corruption Commission(ACC) issued yesterday.

The ACC opened cases against Kyaw Kyaw Lin, Staff Officer of Lashio Township Immigration and Population Department, Deputy Supervisors Kyi Kyi Nyunt and Yan Win Aung, Assistance Supervisors Htet Wint Aung, Ei Ei Mon Aung, Khin May Tun, Kyaw Thu Hein and Mar Chauk San who allegedly committed a bribery case over issuing the National Registration Card and household list.

Article 56 states that, “Other than the Political Post Holder, if any other Authorized  Person  is  convicted for  committing  bribery; he/she shall  be  punished  with  imprisonment  for  a  term of not more than 10 years and with a fine.”  

ACC received the complaints against immigration staffs who asked for money issuing of national registration cards, household lists and birth certificates.

That’s why a complaint was filed at Lashio Township Police Station in Shan State against Immigration staffs including officer and their partner under Anti-Corruption Law Section 56/63.
