SAC, SSPP sign agreements after 3 days of peace talks

The State Peace Talks Team and the Shan State Progress Party-SSPP have signed agreements after three days of discussion, the information team of the State Administration Council (SAC) reported.

The State Peace Talks Team and the SSPP delegation led by Vice-Chairman (1) Sao Khur Tai held the second-day at the meeting hall of the National Solidarity and Peacemaking Centre in Nay Pyi Taw on August 6.

At the second-day meeting, National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee Member Lieutenant General Win Bo Shein presented the committee’s opinions about the points that the group of political parties wants to amend the 2008 constitution. Afterwards, both sides discussed peace and development issued and signed agreements following three days of negotiations.

Then, SSPP Vice-Chairman (2) Sao Khun Seng and State Peace Talks Team Leader Lieutenant General Yar Pyae gave concluding remarks.

The meeting was attended by SAC member Union Minister at the Union Government Office (1) Chairman of the National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee Leader of the State Peace Talks Team Lt-Gen Yar Pyae, SAC Member Lt-Gen Moe Myint Tun, Secretary of the National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee Lt-Gen Min Naung and Vice-Chairman (1) Sao Khur Tai, Vice-Chairman (2) Sao Khun Seng and Central Committee Member Sao Naw Leik from the SSPP delegation.
