SAC chairman meets Chinese Public Security Minister, discusses MNDAA’s attacks on security posts in northeastern Myanmar

Chairman of the State Administration Council Senior General Min Aung Hlaing received a Chinese delegation led by Mr. Wang Xiaohong, Member of the Secretariat of the Communist Party Central Committee, State Councillor and Minister of Public Security of China, at the SAC Chairman’s Office in Nay Pyi Taw on October 31.  

Also present at the meeting together with the Senior General were SAC Joint Secretary Lt-Gen Ye Win Oo, SAC Member Union Minister for Home Affairs Lt-Gen Yar Pyae, Union Minister for Immigration and Population U Myint Kyaing and Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs U Lwin Oo. Mr. Wang Xiaohong was accompanied by Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar Mr. Chen Hai and officials.

During the meeting, they discussed Myanmar and China being dependable and friendly countries, the improved friendship and diplomatic relations between the two countries, Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army’s (MNDAA) attacks on the security outposts with the aim of disrupting the peace and stability in the northeastern region of Myanmar.

They also discussed bilateral, cooperative measures against online gambling that seeks self-interest, communication fraud and drug production and smuggling in Laukkai region, the interference by a world power in the affairs of other world countries, including Myanmar, and its manipulation of other countries with a double standard by looking only for self-seeking.

The discussion also included the rivalries among the ethnic groups leading to armed conflicts in northern Shan State since the independence of Myanmar, some ethnic armed groups producing and selling drugs in the area, the occurrence of "Fon" / "Yan" group riots in Kokang area, the “Pal” group assigned responsibilities, power hunger, production of weapons and ammunition, the hampering of regional stability and peace due to the influx of arms and ammunition, effective measures to expose and fight illegal online gambling and communication fraud in the border region, investigation into and actions against illegal activities in the region, and the establishment of a joint law enforcement and security team.
