SAC announces to remove the citizenship for five people including singer Saung Oo Hlaing

Five men and women, including singer Saung Oo Hlaing, were stripped of their citizenship, reported the MRTV on the evening of March 7.

The report said that 11 people, who had left the country illegally in violation of the country's existing laws, had acted in a way that harmed the interests of Myanmar. The termination of citizenship for them was announced on March 4 in accordance with the 1982 Myanmar Citizenship Law.

Singer Saung Oo Hlaing, U Maung Maung Aye, Daw Khin Ma Ma Myo, U Pyi Thit Nyunt Wai aka U Maung Maung and Daw Phyu Phyu Thin were stripped of their citizenship under Section 16 of the 1982 Myanmar Citizenship Law in accordance with the authority of the Central Body. The similar measures will be taken against those found further, it said.

In addition, the State Administration Council (SAC) announced the termination of citizenship for Dr Zaw Wai Soe, Dr Sasa, U Min Ko Naing aka U Paw Oo Tun, U Ye Mon aka U Tin Thit, U Lwin Ko Latt, Daw Zin Mar Aung, U Htin Lin Aung, U Aung Myo Min, Daw Ei Thuzar Maung, U Myo Yan Naung Thein and Daw Ei Pan Cello (b) Eaint Po Oo on March 4.
