Robbery takes place at a shop operating money transfer business in Phayathonzu

A shop operating money transfer business was robbed by robbers in Phayathonzu, Kya-in-Seikkyi Township, Kayin State in the Thai-Myanmar border on the afternoon of November 30, while a house was on fire, according to locals.

A resident said that a fire broke out in a house in Ward No. 3, Phayathonzu town and while the armed organizations and residents of Phayathonzu were extinguishing the fire, robbers attacked the shop.

He continued, "The shop that was robbed by the robbers is the Awi money exchange shop near the clock tower. It is known that a lot of Thai Baht and Myanmar kyats have taken away."

The resident also said that the armed organizations in Phayathonzu are looking for those who robbed the money transfer shop.

Tatmadaw, KNU, DKBA, KNU/KNLA (PC), New Mon State Party and the BGF are cooperating for law enforcement and security of Phayathonzu, according to the residents.
