RCSS/SSA urges inclusive dialogue with international assistance to find a solution to the current political crisis

The Restoration Council of Shan State/Shan State Army (RCSS/SSA) has called for an all-inclusive dialogue with the international community to resolve the current political crisis in a statement issued in Diamond Jubilee of Shan State National Day which falls on February 7.

In addition, the RCSS/SSA said in a statement that it would try to continue working for the joint establishment of a federal democratic union and to resolve the military conflict between the Shan State ethnic armed forces, which began after 2015, through dialogue.

The RCSS/SSA said it is doing its best to provide food and shelter for the refugees affected by the fighting and will continue to do so. On Shan State National Day, a video conferencing meeting of a step-by-step conference, which was sponsored by the RCSS/SSA, was held to draft the Shan State Constitution in accordance with the federal principle accepted by the Shan people, between February 3 and 7 and implementation talks will continue.

The RCSS/SSA pays tribute to the great Shan State National Day, which demonstrated the unity of Shan princes and the people’s representatives of the Federated Shan States and declared, followed by the resolutions of “Shan National Anthem”, “Shan National Flag” and the formation of “Shan State Council”.

After 2015, there were clashes frequently occurred between two Shan armed groups in some townships in northern Shan State, the RCSS/SSA and the Shan State Progressive Party/Shan State Army (SSPP/SSA), the RCSS/SSA and the Ta'ang National Liberation Army (TNLA), the SSPP/SSA and coalition forces of SSPP/SSA and TNLA.
