Some people held a protest in front of the US Embassy and the British Embassy in Yangon on December 28.

According to residents of the township, a protest was held in front of the US Embassy in Yangon at around 10 am on December 28.

Demonstrators, holding placards against the United Nations and the United States, held protests on the platform in front of the embassy and on the other side of University Avenue Road.

It is reported that the protestors were holding vinyl with texts such as “We condemn the unilateral decisions of the United Nations Security Council against Myanmar.” and “Only Myanmar can solve the Myanmar issue.”.

During the protest, security forces provided security near them and on University Avenue Road.

The Kamayut Township Police Station has been contacted to inquire about the protest, but no reply was made.

Similarly, on the afternoon of December 28, some people made a protest in front of the British Embassy in Myanmar on Strand Road in Kyauktada Township.

The US President approved the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) (H.R 7900) for the fiscal year 2023 on December 23, and it was found that the 'BURMA Act of 2022' related to Myanmar was included in the act, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced.
