Police killed an armed Thai drug trafficker in self-defence in Techilek on February 22.
The police received a tip-off about narcotic drugs in a house rented by Thai citizens, announced the Anti-narcotic Drug Unit on February 23.
The police found four Thai citizens in the house and one of them prevented the police from searching their house. He tried to shoot the police with the gun he was holding. The police fired warning shots but one of the warning shots hit him. He later died with the injuries sustained from gun wounds.
The police seized 816 amphetamine tablets, materials used in narcotic drugs, a pistol and its ammunitions from the house.
