Persons under COVID-19 investigation may stay at hotels with their own expenses

Of the patients under investigation of COVID-19 in Yangon Region, those who can afford their expenses for hotel stay will be allowed to do so, said Region Minister for Social Affairs Naing Ngan Lin. 

“We are considering keeping some of the patients under investigation at hotels. Those who can afford hotel expenses will be allowed,” the minister said. 

Theinbyu boxing stadium has been prepared to house about 150 persons under investigation of the virus who will be returning from Bodh Gaya to Yangon Region. The stadium was disinfected.  

Yangon Region Chief Minister has said about 500 apartments have been readied for the COVID-19 outbreak while preparations are being made to keep two 300-bed hospitals under the control of Yangon General Hospital. 

The government will coordinate with state and regional governments for buildings for Myanmar citizens who will be returning from abroad during the Thingyan period, said Union Minister for  Health and Sports Dr Win Myat Aye.
