Peacemaking can only be achieved by meeting and finding a solution through political means based on the spirit of union among ethnics, free from foreign interference and internal witchcraft, said Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC).
This was added by the Chairman of SAC in the message sent to the Rakhine State Day ceremony fell on December 15.
The Chairman of SAC said that Rakhine State has had many difficulties in the past, starting with transportation, and since the military government has paid attention to the development of Rakhine State, it is well known that the development of Rakhine State has been changing and progressing much more than before. However, in the current period, due to ethnic armed groups and foreign interference, stability and peace have been broken, and senseless shootings, attacks, harassment and destruction. The local people themselves are feeling the effects of the conflict. As long as there is no peace and stability, the socio-economic development of the ethnic people will be a long way off. Opportunities will also be faced with losses.
In addition, the government and the Tatmadaw are safeguarding the three main national causes: non-disintegration of the Union, non-disintegration of the national solidarity, perpetuation of national sovereignty as a national duty for the State in building the nation in accordance with the Constitution. The SAC has already established political and national goals for the present and the future. Therefore, in the journey towards a peaceful and modern developed democratic country that the people want, all the ethnic people in the union should work and live together with mutual respect, understanding and trust, he said.
Also, only by following the path of NCA for the peace of the Union will we be able to build the peaceful nation that we all hope for. In bringing about peace in their country, without foreign interference and internal witchcraft, based on the spirit of union among ethnics, they will only be able to see it through dialogue and finding a solution through political means. As it is said that full strength is only within the country, he wants to encourage all ethnic people to work together for the benefit of the country through a united group.
In the message of the Chairman of the SAC, the establishment of the Central Committee for Peace and Development in Rakhine State by the SAC and the conditions of the establishment and implementation of sector-specific plans for socio-economic life development activities in agriculture, livestock breeding, education, health, including telecommunication and electricity sectors for the development of the state, the situation of rehabilitation activities carried out by SAC in Rakhine State after Cyclone Mocha struck in May 2023, were also included.
