In Mandalay Region, Nyaung-U Township, a primary school teacher from Hse Ywa village was shot and killed by PDF members on the evening of July 31.
At around 12:30 a.m. on July 31, Daw Wah Wah Moe, a 40-year-old primary school teacher from the Hse Ywa village branch high school, was at her home when PDF members arrived on three motorcycles and opened fire. She sustained gunshot wounds and died on the spot.
Similarly, in Nyaung-U Township, during June, PDF members had also threatened parents of Grade 12 students who were preparing to retake the university entrance exam. As a result, some parents withdrew their children from the exam accommodations and took them back home.
In a related incident, around 15 PDF members arrived at a primary school in Kyauk Khwet village, Kyaukpadaung Township, Nyaung-U District, on July 18. They threatened the teachers, demanding the school be shut down, and proceeded to lock the classroom doors and the school gate.
Additionally, in Nyaung-U Township on July 28, a PDF group seized cash from a DENKO fuel station, took two motorcycles and a fuel delivery truck, and abducted two employees. Security forces later conducted clearance operations, leading to a clash in which two PDF members were killed in action, with weapons and related items seized.
