A PDF group raided a DENKO fuel station in Nyaung-U Township, stealing valuables and abducting two employees, according to local sources.

The incident occurred around 5 p.m. on July 28 near Taungba Village along the Nyaung-U-Kyaukpadaung road. Six armed PDF members (under verification) arrived on three motorcycles, robbing the station of four mobile phones, two pairs of gold earrings, two motorcycles, 500,000 kyats in cash, and a white Honda Fit car belonging to a customer, U San Yu (38) from Bonetaw Village.

The assailants then abducted the station manager, U Win Myint Tun (a.k.a. U Nyi Nyi Tun, 40), from Ward No. 5 in Nyaung-U, and deputy manager, U San Lwin Oo (42), from Taungba Village, before fleeing toward Nyaungtoe Village. Security forces, including joint clearance operation teams, launched search efforts in the area.

During the operation, security personnel encountered four PDF members (under verification) near Kanpauk (East) and Kyaukkhan villages, about five miles southwest of the oil station. An exchange of gunfire ensued, resulting in two PDF members being killed and two others escaping. Security forces recovered an MA-13 rifle with 10 rounds and a magazine, as well as an MA-1 rifle with 10 rounds and a magazine.

The Nyaung-U Township police station has filed a case (P-62/2025) under Section 50(b) of the Counter-Terrorism Law regarding the robbery and abduction. Security forces are continuing operations to rescue the abducted employees and recover the stolen items.
