A passenger minibus lost control and crashed into a parked vehicle and two houses on Myoshaung Road, in front of Maha Myine Pariyatti Monastery, located in Maha Myine ward, Mawlamyine city, according to local rescue organizations.

The accident occurred at around 10:50 p.m. on July 6, when the minibus, operated by Saung Myothu bus line and traveling from Hlaing ward towards Zaygyi roundabout, failed to control its speed upon reaching Maha Myine ward. “The minibus veered to the left side of the road and collided with a parked car and two houses,” said Ko Bo Bo Win from Bo Bo Win Rescue Team.

He added, “The driver was pinned under a collapsed brick fence and trapped in the driver’s seat area. Together with the Yarmanya Rescue Team, we used a hydraulic cutter to safely extract him alive. There were no passengers on board at the time.”

Additionally, the vehicle owner, who was traveling with the driver, sustained injuries and was transported by ambulance to Mawlamyine General Hospital.

As a result of the crash, a Toyota Kluger parked by the roadside suffered significant damage. One of the houses was nearly destroyed, while the front section of another house was also damaged, according to local residents.
