The significant pagodas in Yangon, especially the Shwedagon Pagoda, are being crowded with pilgrims on March 16 (today) on which full moon day of Tabaung in Myanmar Era falls.
The Shwedagon Pagoda has been holding the 2610th Buddha Pujaniya Festival since March 7.
The festival was launched at 9am on March 7 at the Chanthagyi stairways with a three-time recitation of Namo Tassa.
On full moon day of Tabaung, pilgrims are also visiting other pagodas in Yangon such as the Botahtaung, the Kabaaye and the Tooth Relic Pagoda.
