More than 2,000 workers at the JW factory in Zaykabar compound staged a protest on July 7 claiming that they are facing high salary cuts, earned no annual fee and had to buy sewing needles themselves.

According to a representative of the workers, the workers are protesting on seven points and are still negotiating until the evening.

"We are still negotiating until the evening we return. The factory did not comply with the workers' demands and only provided solutions. Negotiations are still ongoing,” he said.

Workers demand to pay bonuses and OT fee immediately, to stop unemployment deductions, speaking injuriously, swearing in the workplace, scolding by the manager in the office, demanding to work in off day, high pay cuts, no earned leave, no casual leave, no annual fee, giving promises to increase basic salary but no increase, buying sewing needles by workers, according to him.

It is reported that CRIVIT brand and other brands are sewing at the JW factory.

The factory was contacted about the incident but could not be reached for comment.
