Kamaryut Township's Pyitthu Hluttaw candidate from People's Party (PP) U Nay Yan Oo said there were over 2,000 votes that might be 'blank ballots'.

"Before the polling stations open, we have to count the number of ballot papers and put inside Form 11(b). So how many ballot papers from how many bundles, that sort of thing. After putting it inside, polling station representatives from parties have to sign, with a witness, the form. In one of the Kamaryut polling station, this didn't happen. They just counted it themselves and then the polling station chiefs told us that it was 3950 votes. But when it gets counted, it was only 1950 votes. Around 2000 seem to be missing. They are blank ballots. I have proof of that(incident). As for the rest, I'm gathering evidence," said U Nay Yan Oo.

He go onto say that he will also be collecting evidence for instances of breaking the laws, starting from the advance voting process to the end of the election, so that he can pursue legal action.

"We are collecting evidence of breaking and not following election laws and guidelines. For Kamaryut at the very least. We collect first and then we will bring them to the media, civil societies, election observers and international communities. And then we will go to the third phase of pursuing legal action."

The National League for Democracy, PP, Union Betterment Party, People's Pioneer party and the Union Solidarity and Development Party are all competing for Kamaryut Township's Pyitthu Hluttaw seat.
