The State Administration Council has issued Order No. 141/2024, establishing a steering committee tasked with drafting and enforcing a law designed to assist and care for the sons and daughters of surviving family members of public and civil servants who have died or lost body parts due to violent attacks.

The committee is mandated to include sector-specific requirements in the law, establish guidelines and measures, and create working committees essential for both drafting and enforcing the law. 

Additionally, the committee is responsible for organizing relevant groups, setting a timeline for the law's drafting, and supervising the process to ensure timely completion.

The committee will study existing related laws, provide guidance for establishing legal connections, review the draft law submitted by the Law Drafting Committee, and make any necessary amendments. 

Once the final draft is completed and approved, the committee will proceed with the formal procedures for enacting the law.

The Union Minister of Social Welfare, Relief, and Resettlement will serve as Chairman, while the Deputy Minister of Defence will act as Vice-Chairman. Relevant departmental officials will also be involved in the committee.
