Nandaw , Sinphyu and Manwain gates in Muse, Myanmar-China border allow 200 people per day from each gate and tokens were issued five days in advance according to locals of Muse.

“There are no more people queuing at these gates as tokens are issued in three or five days in advance. Each gate allows 200 people per day,” said a local.

There are three gates in Muse that allows entrance and exit. Temporary border pass issuing was allowed since September 4 and initially, Nandaw gate and Sinphyu gate were opened.

On September 13, the rest gate which is Manwain gate was opened. Hotels in Muse were packed with people and so many people came here for waiting and spending the night there. There were long queue because they were waiting to take tokens for making new border pass. There were some cases that some people lined up to get token and sold again according to locals.

I don’t know how much that cost.  I’ve seen that a token cost Yuan 100 to 300. If you have a registration card, you can make a border pass. China allowed six nights seven days. After seven days at China, you must come back to Myanmar. If you want to enter again, you must make another border pass.  If you stay more than 7 days, they can arrest you,” said a local from Muse.

Temporary Border Passes (TBP) have been issued since September 4 for legally entering China via border gates between Myanmar and China in Muse.

In the early months of this year, those who can show household lists and those staying in Muse and Namtkham can make border passes and allowed entrance to China.

Ministry of Immigration and Population of Myanmar has been issuing TBP who can show their EIDs with the fee of Ks.1000 per person.
