Myanmar beat Mongolia 1-0 in 2022 WC qualifier and in second stage of 2023 Asian Cup at Mandala Thiri stadium in Mandalay on November 19.

Myanmar climbed to fourth place from the bottom after losing three matches and winning the last two matches.

Myanmar coach Antoine Hey fielded the squad used in the match with Tajikistan team.

Myanmar team tried to score from the start but they didn’t have goal scoring opportunities just like they had with Tajikistan as Mongolians was well prepared for defence. The only winning goal came in 17th minutes by Hlaing Bo Bo. Mongolians threatened back to Myanmar goal after they conceded a goal but Myanmar keeper Kyaw Zin Htet and defenders blocked their attacks. In the second half, both sides created chances but they didn’t convert them into goals. Myanmar earned six points from five matches and Mongolia three points from five matches.
