Myanmar has already transferred more than 10,000 Chinese citizens illegally staying in Myanmar till November 30, according to Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun, spokesperson of State Administration Council (SAC).
Repatriation of Chinese national began since October 31, sources said.
“Today, Myanmar has transferred 182 men and 30 women totaling 212 people to officials from China. Therefore, a total of 10,382 Chinese citizens have been transferred,” said SAC spokesman.
Some foreign nationals are found to be illegally entering and living in Myanmar through the border areas, the administrative organizations are conducting the necessary verifications and handing them back to the relevant countries so that they can act in accordance with the law according to the statement issued by the SAC.
From October 31 to until now, 9,126 men and 1,166 women totaling 10,382 Chinese citizens were screened according to the law and have been systematically handed over to Chinese officials. The government said it will continue doing necessary verifications and handing them back to the relevant countries.
