Myanmar migrant workers receive COVID-19 jabs in Mae Sot

MYAWADY----Over 1,500 Myanmar migrant workers in Mae Sot, Thailand, received COVID-19 jabs for free of Charge in Mae Sot on the embankment of Mori River, near Myawady Township, Myanmar-Thai border, yesterday.

“In the past, Thailand Health Department frequently injects the COVID-19 vaccine to the workers. Now, more Myanmar migrant workers received the COVID-19 jabs. The COVID-19 vaccination program aims for not only Myanmar migrant workers but also Thai citizens. I would like to urge Myanmar migrant workers who have a chance of getting COVID jab to inject the COVID vaccine,” said Kogyi Mann from Mae Sot.

The first dose of COVID-19 vaccine is Sinovac kind and the second dose of Astra Zeneca COVID-19 vaccine must be injected on November 11th.

The Myanmar migrant workers from Mae Sot, Thailand had received COVID-19 jabs on August 17th and 18th.

The Covid-19 vaccination program for Myanmar migrant workers in Mae Sot is being organized by Chulabhorn Royal Academy Foundation and  Tak Province Chambers of Commerce and Industry.

Totaling 5,000 Covid doses are being injected to Myanmar migrant workers who worked at the factories and shops in Mae Sot and around 1,180 Myanmar migrant workers in Mae Sot, Tak province, Thailand had caught Covid-19 virus.
