Myanmar reported 361 new Covid-19 confirmed cases during the past 24-hour period from 8pm September 16 to 8pm September 17, according to the Ministry of Health (MOH).
The latest cases with a 2.9% positivity rate were reported after 12,433 lab samples had been tested.
In the last 24-hour period, 182 patients hospitalized or in home isolation recovered from their illnesses, bringing the total number of recoveries to 595,116.
Until 8pm on September 17 from the start of the pandemic, a total of 8,914,970 lab samples were tested. Meanwhile, the total number of deaths reached 19,444.
Covid-19 lab samples are tested in the labs under the MOH, using GeneXpert machines in hospitals in Nay Pyi Taw, all regions and states, at No.1 1,000-Bed Military Hospital in Yangon, at No.2 1,000-Bed Military Hospital in Nay Pyi Taw, at No.9 100-Bed Military Hospital in Lashio, at private hospitals and labs and using COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Diagnostic Test in hospitals and public health departments in all regions and states including Nay Pyi Taw.
