Myanmar evacuates 175 seafarers from Belgium and Netherland

Myanmar brought back 175 seafarers from Belgium and Netherland using a chartered relief flight from Titan airways to Yangon, according to Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The flight carried 175 Myanmar seafarers from Belgium, Netherland and middle-east and six foreigners who hold business visa and need to come to Myanmar, sources said.

Ministry of Transport and Communications announced it will extend the ban on the landing of international flights at Yangon International Airport (YIA) to October 31. The ban on the landing of International flights was started since March 30.

Myanmar had extended the ban on all domestic flights at Terminal 3 till October 1.

Yangon Aerodrome Company Limited, which is supervising the YIA, said it is reduced or given exemption for the rental fees of all shops in Terminal 1 and it is also cut the salaries of airport staffs for the long term.
