The Myanmar Embassy in Bangkok has announced that Myanmar workers in Thailand are being fraudulently claiming compensation by submitting forged documents when they die in the workplace for various reasons.
The Myanmar Embassy is verifying the documents submitted by Myanmar workers to ensure that their family members receive the compensation they deserve in Thailand if they die in various reasons, including accidents at work, while working in Thailand.
In the process of issuing such certificates, it has been found that some have fraudulently submitted forged documents to claim compensation.
On November 25, 2025, Ma Hnin Cho, holder of CI No. CC8766288 (date of issue: September 6, 2025) filed a petition at the Myanmar Embassy to receive compensation for the death of her husband Aung Myint aka Aung Myint Oo, holder of CI No. CC8108195 (date of issue: April 28, 2023) in a traffic accident in Thailand.
The information in the documents submitted was verified against the records at the Myanmar Embassy and it was found that the information was inconsistent. The person concerned contacted Ma Hnin Cho to come to the Myanmar Embassy with the original documents to explain, but it was found that she has not come to resolve the matter to date.
Therefore, Ma Hnin Cho is hereby further notified to come to the Myanmar Embassy in Bangkok with the original documents and resolve the matter from the date of the announcement to December 19.
The Myanmar Embassy in Bangkok also announced that if any person is found to be holding or making forged documents, the Myanmar Embassy will cooperate with relevant authorities and take necessary action.
