Myanmar earned nearly US $ 9 billion from total border trade in more than 11 months of this fiscal year, less than US $ 1.3 billion compared with previous year according to Ministry of Commerce.

From October 1, 2020 to September 3, 2021, in over 11 months, Myanmar earned US$ 8.933 billion from borer trade with neighbouring countries. In the previous same year, border trade amounted to US$ 10.234 billion. Therefore, within 11 months period, it was less than the previous year’s amount according to data issued by the Ministry of Commerce. 

Myanmar is trading with neighbouring countries such as China, India, Bangladesh, and Laos with 19 border trade camps.

Myanmar-Thai border trade within this time frame is US $ 3.6 billion and less than US $ 112 million compared with previous year.

From Muse border trade camp,which is a Myanmar-China border trade camp,  it earned over US $ 4.5 billion and less than US $ 1 billion compared with last year.

From Myanmar-Bangladesh border trade camp, it earned US $ 35 million, less than US $ 16 million compared with last year’s data.

From India-Myanmar border trade, it earned more than US $ 196 million and found that it was more than US $ 106 million compared with previous year. 

Border trade camps are opened in Muse, Lweje, Chin Shwe Haw, Kan Paikte, Kengtung, Tachileik, Myawaddy, Kawthaung, Myeik, Hteekhi, Mawtaung, Maese, Sittwe, Maungdaw, Tamu, Reed, Htantalan, and Kyainglus according to the Ministry.

The priority sectors for 2020-2025 National Export Strategy are farm produce, production of basic commodities, garment, electricity and industry, marine products, forestry products, digital products, services sector, transportation services sector, management sector, trade and information.
