Myanmar drew 1-1 with Malaysia in Group 1 opening match of the 30th Philippines SEA Games, held on November 25.

In aother group, Vietnam thrashed Brunei 6-0.

Defender Soe Moe Kyaw headed the opening goal in the 13th minute from a corner kick. Malaysia equalized in 24th minutes scored by Hadi Fayyadh. Malaysian goalkeeper saved a goal scoring opportunity from Aung Kaung Marn in the first half. An effort from Malaysian team hit the bar once in the second half and Myanmar goalkeeper San Sett Naing saved a close-range from a Malaysian player.

Vietnam scored two in the first half and four in the second half.

Myanmar will play against host team Philippines on November 27.
