Myanmar conducts practical test voting using EVM in four townships in Yangon

The practical test voting using electronic voting machine (EVM) was conducted in four townships in Yangon on December 26, according to the Union Election Commission (UEC).

The practice of voting using electronic voting machines has been conducted since December 4 according to district areas in Yangon Region and it was done in Taikkyi, North Oakkalapa, Kawhmu and Sanchaung townships.

There were 518 people from 48 districts and villages in Taikkyi Township, 490 people from nine wards of North Okkalapa Township, 640 people from 23 districts and villages in Kawhmu Township and 461 people from 10 districts of Sanchaung Township, totaling 2,109 people attended and carried out practical voting tests.

The UEC has announced that the experimental voting test using the electronic voting machine was conducted in Taikkyi, North Oakkalapa, Kawhmu and Sanchaung townships on December 27.
