A joint delegation from Myanmar, China and Thailand visited KK Park and the Shwe Kokko area in Myawady on December 15 to inspect sites linked to online fraud and illegal online gambling and to discuss stronger cooperation to combat such crimes.

The trip covered KK Park, Shwe Kokko and nearby areas where authorities have been investigating telecom fraud, online gambling and related criminal activities. The delegation inspected demolished buildings previously used for scam operations, facilities that housed illegal foreign nationals, and locations where fraud centers had been destroyed.

The three delegations later held a Myanmar–China–Thailand Trilateral Meeting on Combating Telecom Fraud and Online Gambling at the Myanmar–Thailand Friendship Bridge No. 2 in Myawady. Discussions focused on completely eliminating online scam operations in the region and ensuring smooth cooperation in transferring suspects to their respective countries.

Myanmar authorities said the government is treating online fraud and illegal online gambling as a national priority and will continue working closely with domestic forces and neighbouring countries to prevent such activities from operating inside Myanmar.
