A serious road accident occurred near the Phae Thaung turn in Zalun Township along the Hinthada-Yangon highway, resulting in injuries to several individuals.
The incident took place on the afternoon of April 18, shortly after 2 pm, and involved a collision between a passenger bus heading from Hinthada to Yangon, a private car, and a truck traveling from the Yangon direction.
“Ahead of the Phae Thaung turn, the passenger bus and the private car were moving one after the other. The truck, coming from the opposite direction, collided with them near there. A total of about 13 people were injured in the crash,” a local police officer stated.
Emergency response teams from Zalun, Danubyu, Duyar, and Hinthada were quickly deployed to the scene. Injured individuals were initially transported to Zalun Hospital, with some later transferred to Hinthada General Hospital and others to hospitals in Yangon, according to a representative from the Hinthada District Social Assistance Network.
Preliminary reports indicate that while several of the injuries are severe, no fatalities have been reported at this time. Authorities and volunteer groups continue to assist with medical transport and support for the victims.
