MS Amadea carrying over 400 Germans arrives in Yangon

MS Amadea cruise ship carrying over 400 German citizens arrived at MIPL port in Myanmar for the first time this year on January 23.

Onboard the cruise liner are 490 passengers from European countries including 427 Germans, 26 Swiss and 18 Australians, and 317 crew members.

MS Amadea arrived in Yangon on January 23 and is set to leave for Phuket Port in Thailand on January 25. During their stay in Yangon the tourists will be visiting Yangon city and Bagan.

Moreover, movie stars from a German broadcasting programme Dream Boat will also make a film in Yangon.

This year Myanmar is expected to see arrivals of over 16 cruise liners from America and Europe with most passengers from the United States.

According to Myanmar Port Authority, 17 cruise ships arrived in Myanmar last year.

Till October last year, Myanmar received 1,085,272 foreign tourists who arrived on visas—1,042,765 by air, 7,139 by cruise ship and 35,377 via border point of entry.
