There are nearly 500 people who had close contact with the COVID-19 confirmed cases, so their movements are being restricted and monitored whether they are infected or not as a preventive measure, said Union Minister for Health and Sports Dr Myint Htwe.

Figures and maps are being drawn depending on township-wise lists for restricting movements of returnees from Thailand.

The ministry issued a statement on March 26 urging Myanmar citizens returning from Thailand to accept their restricted movements in buildings.

During facility quarantine, they need to report daily to respective health departments about their health conditions. If they are infected, the earlier treatment can be given to them preventing their families and communities, the statement said.
