Union Minister for Union Government Office (2) U Ko Ko Hlaing and Bangladesh Ambassador to Myanmar H.E. Dr. Md Monwar Hossain met on September 7 at the office of the ministry in Nay Pyi Taw.
During the meeting, they exchanged views and openly discussed about the friendly relationship between the two countries, further promote cooperation between the two countries, including trade between the two countries and issues related to repatriation of displaced persons from Rakhine State.
The Ambassador of Bangladesh to Myanmar, H.E. Dr. Md Monwar Hossain, presented his Credentials to the Chairman of the State Administration Council, Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, on September 6 and they had a close discussion regarding matters of cooperation and friendship, issues related to the promotion of mutual trade, illegal trades in the border area, issues of cooperation between the two countries to prevent drug trafficking, issues related to repatriation of displaced persons, cooperation issues in the defense sector for regional stability and peace, cooperation regarding the damage caused by Cyclone Mocha and the current political developments in Myanmar.
Similarly, on September 5, Union Minister U Than Swe and Dr. Md Monwar Hossain, who has agreed to be appointed as Bangladesh's ambassador to Myanmar, discussed the further development and strengthening of Myanmar-Bangladesh bilateral relations, bilateral trade promotion of cooperation in mutually beneficial sectors, including investment and mergers, the implementation process of repatriation of displaced people from Rakhine State and regional and international affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nay Pyi Taw.
Similarly, the Union Minister for Health, Dr. Thet Khaing Win, and the Bangladeshi Ambassador to Myanmar met on September 7 at the Union Minister of Health's living room in Nay Pyi Taw, and discussed the issues of promoting cooperation in the health sector of the two countries, global health issues such as epidemic prevention and response, health care services that are accessible to everyone, activities to solve the problem of antibiotic resistance, issues that the two countries can cooperate on, such as drowning prevention activities, etc., issues that have been prepared for health care activities in repatriation of displaced persons and the registration and distribution of medicines and medical devices produced from Bangladesh in Myanmar.
