A remote mine attack on a group of vehicle supervisory committee in Mandalay at around 10 am on August 4 injured two people, sources said.

The explosion occurred while officials from the vehicle supervisory committee are checking vehicles and trucks on Sagaing-Mandalay Kannar Road in Yintaw Village, Amarapura Township,

The explosion occurred about 20 feet away from the checkpoint injuring the staff Ko Ko Aung in his waist and U Nyunt Win in his right cheek and right forearm.

According to initial investigation, the landmine exploded using a remote control after the two men riding on a motorcycle passed the checkpoint.
