Department of Myanmar Examinations under the Ministry of Education announced the date of the 2023 matriculation examination. The 2023 matriculation examination will be held from 8 to 18 March 2023.

Candidates will have to take Myanmar, English and Mathematics exams on 8, 9 and 10 March respectively. Then, they will sit for Chemistry and Physics on 13 and 14 March and Biology and Economics on 15 March. Geography, History and Optional Myanmar exams will be on 16, 17 and 18 March respectively. They have to sit for the exam at 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.

A total of more than 280,000 students sat for the 2022 matriculation examinations and over 130000 students passed the exam, the national pass rate was 46.88 per cent, according to the Ministry of Education.
