It has been reported that a maritime security exercise will be conducted in the northern waters of the Andaman Sea from October 20 to 24.

The exercise, known as the 2024 Maritime Security Sea Exercise, will involve surface, aerial, and underwater drills, as well as live-fire training. A designated area has been marked with specific coordinates, and maritime and aviation warnings have been issued accordingly.

Additionally, during the exercise period, a safety zone of 5 miles around the designated area has been established. Ships of all sizes, cargo vessels, fishing boats, and mechanized rafts are prohibited from passing through, anchoring, fishing, or deploying fishing gear within this zone. Aircraft and vessels are also prohibited from flying or passing below 15,000 feet in altitude.
