List of Elected Candidates for 47 Amyotha Hluttaw Constituencies Released Again

The Union Election Commission (UEC) released on January 17 the list of elected representatives for 47 Amyotha Hluttaw (Upper House) constituencies.

According to the UEC announcement, the Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP) won 31 seats in the 47 constituencies, the National Unity Party (NUP) won six seats, and the Mon Unity Party won four seats.

In addition, the People’s Party (PP), People’s Pioneer Party (PPP), National Development and Interests Party, Danu Nationalities Democracy Party, Kayah State People’s Party, and Karen National Democratic Party each won one seat, the UEC stated.

Based on the lists released by the UEC as of January 8, in Phase (1) of the election, the USDP won 21 out of 31 Amyotha Hluttaw constituencies, while the Wa National Party won one seat, the Zomi National Party won three seats, the Arakan Front Party won three seats, the Arakan National Party won one seat, the Naga National Party won one seat, and the Mon Unity Party won one seat.

Therefore, according to the UEC announcements as of January 17, out of a total of 78 Amyotha Hluttaw constituencies, the USDP has won 52 seats, the National Unity Party six seats, the Mon Unity Party five seats, the Zomi National Party three seats, the Arakan Front Party three seats, the Wa National Party one seat, the Arakan National Party one seat, the Naga National Party one seat, and the People’s Party (PP), People’s Pioneer Party (PPP), National Development and Interests Party, Danu Nationalities Democracy Party, Kayah State People’s Party, and Karen National Democratic Party each have won one seat.
