Mawlamyine Dialysis center in Kyauktan industrial zone will temporarily close at the end of September due to lack of skillful nurses according to officials from Mawlamyine Kidney Foundation.

The cause for temporary closing the center is that skillful nurses assisting in dialysis are unable to find and so the center will accept patients until September 30 according to an official from Mawlamyine Kidney Foundation.

“Skillful nurses play an important role in dialysis sector. Inexperienced and unskillful nurses are not fit for doing so. The nurses at the center have resigned and it is difficult to replace skillful nurses. If we can replace skillful nurses, we will open the center again and re-accept the patients,” said an official.

Reopening will be officially announced their Facebook page, he continued.

Mawlamyine Dialysis center was start opened in December 2018. It is a center that cleans the kidneys for patients with kidney failure. The center treated over 25 patients monthly before COVID-19 broke out. After COVID-19, there are around 15 patients who come monthly for dialysis.
